Eva Jospin

De Rome à Giverny

This first monograph brings together the major works of Eva Jospin. From drawing to embroidery, from sculpture to immense cardboard installations and immersive architectures, the work bears witness to the variety of formats and supports that make up the richness and singularity of an organic universe celebrating a sovereign nature. The imagination of the forest, the mysteries of the plant world, the dark and secret world of caves permeate all of her work, which is inspired by ancient mythology.

The book begins with a trip to Eva Jospin's studio, followed by a selection of works whose details create dialogues between different materials, gradually revealing the artist's repertoire. The reader is invited to a visual exploration of her work and a gradual journey towards color, which explodes in her most recent works in embroidery. It ends with the presentation of two bronze and brass sculptures, produced in 2021 for the garden of the Musée des Impressionnismes in Giverny. A long interview between the artist and Cyrille Sciama, director of the Museum, accompanies this journey.
