Francisca Mattéoli is Chilean, with a Scottish mother, and she spent her childhood in Latin America. After living in Brazil, she is now based in Paris. In 2000, she shot her first report in Rwanda, accompanied by Patrick Zachmann. It was published in the French edition of the National Geographic. Since then, Francisca Mattéoli has regularly accompanied various humanitarian missions around the world. A true globetrotter, she has also roamed the earth in the footsteps of famous adventurers and has been to many unusual destinations. Her books mainly concern the art of travel including "Escales autour du monde", the fruit of a first collaboration between Louis Vuitton and the Éditions Xavier Barral in 2012, an illustrated book showing the unique collection of Gaston-Louis Vuitton of thousands of hotel labels from around the world. Followed by "Voyages Extraordinaires" in 2021 where Francesca Mattéoli tells the story of some fifty excursions from the mid-19th century to the present day developed through the new modes of transportation offering an unprecedented experience of travel.
