Philippe Séclier

Philippe Séclier is a journalist, photographer, and curator. He has published several books including "Hôtel Puerto" (Images en manoeuvre Éditions, 2001), a long-term photographic series on the harbours around the world, "La longue route de sable" (Éditions Xavier Barral, 2005), on the footsteps of Pier Paolo Pasolini, "El camino de Tulahuèn" (Lom Ediciones, 2014), on those of Chilean photographer Sergio Larrain, and "La jeune fille à la fleur", a survey on Marc Riboud’s iconic photograph (Le Seuil, 2017). Séclier has also directed two documentary films, one on Marc Riboud, "Instants d’année" (Riff Productions, 2004), and the other, "Un voyage américain" (Silex Productions, 2009) about Robert Frank’s famous book, "The Americans". Philippe Séclier has been working for the past fifteen years with photographer and director Raymond Depardon on his archive. At Atelier EXB, he is also the co-editor for the collection "Des oiseaux" (On birds). As curator, he has conceived several exhibitions including "Autophoto" in tandem with Xavier Barral, held in 2017 at the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, in Paris; "Depardon USA" at the Rencontres d’Arles in 2018; "Échappées américaines – Inédits with Bernard Plossu" at the Festival Présence(s) Photographie 2018, in Montélimar, and "Raymond Depardon : Interieur/Exterieur - route de Beauregard" at the galerie RX, in Paris, in November 2019.
