Valérie Belin

French photographer Valérie Belin has studied at the École nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris followed by Philosophy studies at the Sorbonne. She has exhibited her first photographic research on memory and traces at the beginning of the 1990s with a minimalist aesthetic to her images. Since then Belin has developed a work that blurs the boundaries on the idea of gender, identity and on the ambiguous status of real and virtual worlds. Her photographs are exhibited in prestigious contemporary art institutions such as the Maison européenne de la photographie and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Huis Marseille Foundation in Amsterdam, and the Élysée Museum in Lausanne.
