Stéphanie Salmon is the director of the historical collections of the Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé Foundation, whose mission is to conserve and distribute Pathé's archives. Pathé was created in 1896, during the second industrial revolution. The company quickly became a multinational and a major player in the entertainment business, in the cinematographic and phonographic fields.
After graduating from the École du Louvre, Stéphanie Salmon became interested in industrial and commercial history, and the organisation of the company. Her work on these subjects became part of her thesis in economic history. Pathé's activities during the Occupation period have been another focus area of her research in recent years.
