Des oiseaux, the exhibition

Following the success of its first Toulouse stage at the Galerie le Château d’Eau, the group exhibition opened on September 9 at the Photo Art Center, Hangar in Brussels, with the latest and thirteenth artist just released in the collection: Roger Ballen.

Through more than 150 photographic works, the exhibition Des oiseaux allows us to explore the sky and its flying folks under new horizons. Each photographer, with his or her unique style, takes a look at the world of birds in a poetic and wonder-filled way. They tell the story and the history and lifestyles of species through different themes, from their adaptation to the seasons or to urban species to their migration or their physiology.

Roger Ballen brings to the collection a new look on these flying beings. He photographs birds in closed, dark universes that oscillate between dream and reality. Ballen invites the viewer to be part of the dystopian scene that he stages.
