Seeds, the exhibition in Paris

Conceived by the Atelier EXB, in collaboration with the CENTQUATRE-PARIS, the exhibition Graines ! Petit précipité subjectif d’une histoire des graines takes up questions about living things and is part of the current ecological issues.

From domestication to commercialisation, seeds speak of the evolution of our social and cultural practices. Thus, it is the history of these "great travellers" that is at the heart of the exhibition, through photographic and plastic works as well as seeds from the collections of the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris.

The exhibition brings together new works by the following artists :

-       Thierry Ardouin presents more than 80 photographic portraits of seeds from the collections of the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle.

-       Duy Anh Nhan Duc uses nature and plants as the matrix for his sensitive works.

-       Fabrice Hyber has conceived his work in the form of a gigantic rhizome.

-       Finally, Jade Tang questions matter and observes its metamorphosis in time, space and under the joint action of the elements and gesture.

The exhibition also includes workshops and a hidden garden, thus combing artistic, educational and ecological dimensions.

On the occasion of the exhibition, Atelier EXB publishes the book Seed Stories, which explores the issues of diversity and questions our relationship to origin through the fascinating formal beauty of seeds revealed by the photographs of Thierry Ardouin.
