The Henri Cartier Bresson Foundation presents the exhibition Eugène Atget – Voir Paris, result of two years of research, carried out by par Anne de Mondenard and Agnès Sire using the collections of the Musée Carnavalet. This exhibition presents a selection of some 150 originals prints by Eugène Atget (1857-1927), also collected in the book Voir Paris.
Taken at the photographic chamber and produced over a period of thirty years, these images of old Paris reveal, beyond their documentary aspect, the aesthetic sensitivity of this atipical and pioneering figure in photography.
