The photographs presented are part of a work begun in 2003. They constitute a prologue to a photographic reconnaissance project which led the artist to travel from the Arctic Circle to the contaminated lands of Chernobyl, with frequent returns to the high valleys of Piedmont. . They are for the author the reference point of a desire for genesis in which the human species is voluntarily absent. Forty black and white photographs, both extremely graphic, sometimes bordering on abstraction, but also intimate. The photographs are followed by two essential texts, extracts from Mont Analogue by René Daumal.
