From September 2009 to June 2010, Fabienne Verdier dedicated herself to rising to an artistic challenge, the scope of which surpassed her expectations. Every day in her studio, the artist tackled the execution of four monumental frescoes destined for the walls of the Palazzo Torlonia, a 16th century palace in Rome. For nearly ten months, photographer Philippe Chancel’s lens followed the evolution of these frescoes and the artist’s work – her studio, gestures and artistic world. A film, and a book with images from the film resulted, bearing witness to this unique artistic creation.
