Jörg Brüggemann

Born in 1979 in Herne, Jörg Brüggemann lives and works in Berlin. A graduate of the HfK Bremen under Peter Bialobrezski, he joined the Ostkreuz photo agency in 2008. He was its co-managing director from 2018 to 2023. In his artistic work, he addresses themes such as globalization, identity, and trauma. He has published several books, including Metalheads, Autobahn, and Freundschaft in collaboration with Tobias Kruse. Until 2019, he collaborated with Zeit, Geo, and Monocle magazines. In 2020, he presented his first institutional exhibition at zephyr in Mannheim. Since 2019, he has been teaching photography at the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie, which he co-owns and co-directs with Lia Darjes since 2023.
