Luciano Rigolini

As a photographer, filmmaker and film producer, Luciano Rigolini questions the status of the contemporary image. Over the past thirty years, his various modes of expression have enabled him to reconsider the relationship between images and reality. In his twenty years as a producer of art-house documentaries for Arte (La Lucarne), he has explored new forms of narrative, notably through the works of Chris Marker and Alain Cavalier. His interest in the history of art and photography, as well as in digital printing techniques, has led him to design books as well as works that oscillate between the pictorial and the photographic, and reconsider our way of seeing. His work is exhibited internationally: Kunsthaus Zurich, Fondation Cartier in Paris, Musée de l'Elysée in Lausanne. Winner of numerous international prizes, he has just been awarded the Swiss Grand Prix of Design 2024.
