Ruth Vandewalle (born in Belgium, in 1987) lives in Cairo since 2009 where she finalised her masters of Arabic and Middle-Eastern studies. As a freelance correspondent and news producer she travels all over the Middle-East to make news stories and documentaries for different European TV and radio channels.

She has been on the road with Bieke Depoorter in Egypt since the start of the Arab Spring in 2011 and wrote the essay in the publication of this series, Mumkin - Est-ce possible ? (Éditions Xavier Barral, 2017).
