Stéphane Couturier

Born in 1957, Stéphane Couturier starts his photographic career in the 1990s, interested as much in Dresden construction sites, as in run-down buildings of Havana, or car assembly lines in Valenciennes. His work is articulated around the notion of transformation, with the help of an acute sense of color and composition.

His work is included in many public collections, among which the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Los Angeles County Museum, the National Gallery of Canada or the Art Institue of Chicago.

Among his recent personal exhibitions, Stéphane Couturier’s work has been on display at the Hôtel des Arts in Toulon (2014) and the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris (2015).
