Annie Cohen-Solal is the general curator for all the events organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Magiciens de la Terre. She is a Doctor of Letters and University professor; she has taught at the Berlin F. U., the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, New York University and in France at the EHESS and University of Caen and the ENS. In 1989, she was appointed as cultural advisor of the U.S. Embassy in France. Through her encounter with Léo Castelli, she took a strong interest in the social history of the artists in the United States. Among her books are Sartre: 1905-1980 (Gallimard, 1985), Un jour, ils auront des peintres, l’avènement des artistes américains: Paris 1867-New York 1948 (Gallimard, 2000), Leo Castelli & les siens (Gallimard, 2009), Une renaissance sartrienne (Gallimard, 2013) et Mark Rothko (Actes Sud, 2013).
