Valode & Pistre

Denis Valode and Jean Pistre founded the Valode & Pistre Architectes agency in 1980. Today, it is an international architecture, interior design, urban design and engineering agency, with offices in Paris, Moscow, Warsaw, Beijing and Shanghai.

The two architects are currently pursuing their praxis through major and highly diverse projects, whether they be high-rise buildings, malls, hospitals or whole suburbs within urban environments. In all of their sectors of intervention, Denis Valode and Jean Pistre strive to transfer value and innovation between sectors, and above all, to provide in-depth solutions that extend beyond the project itself to include contributions from engineers, experts in the human sciences and artists, demonstrating their openness towards new forms of creation. This is particularly the case in terms of their high standards for workspaces, their mastery of the relationship between heritage and contemporary architecture in renovations, and the use of cutting edge technologies (structures, new materials and respect for the environment).

This multidisciplinary approach, characterised by its strong contextual and ecological dimension, has formed the basis of their reputation, and is expressed in a great many projects, such as the Musée d’Art Contemporain de Bordeaux, the L’Oréal factory in Aulnay-sous-Bois, or the Grand Stade de Lille, etc. – and in many countries: all over Europe but also in Lebanon, Morocco, Mexico, China and India.

These projects have earned them a dozen awards, such as the Équerre d’Argent or the status of Chevaliers des Arts et des Lettres.
