Francisca Mattéoli

Francisca Mattéoli is Chilean, with a Scottish mother, and she spent her childhood in Latin America. After living in Brazil, she is now based in Paris. In 2000, she shot her first report in Rwanda, accompanied by Patrick Zachmann. It was published in the French edition of the National Geographic. Since then, Francisca Mattéoli has regularly accompanied various humanitarian missions in Cambodia and in Benin, among other areas. A true globetrotter, she has also roamed the earth in the footsteps of famous adventurers and has been to many unusual destinations. Her books mainly concern the art of travel and the history of mythical hotels: Des hôtels et des îles (Assouline, 2003), Aventuriers, destinations insolites (Assouline, 2005) and Échappées belles: escapades sublimes et sauvages (Assouline, 2009). She has also published her travel journals and stories in various international magazines such as Condé Nast Traveller and Air France Magazine, as well as on her blog.
