Pavillon France Dubaï New

Pavillon France Dubaï

Designed for the Dubai World Expo 2020, the French Pavilion entitled "Lumière, Lumières" entrusted to architect Jean-Luc Pérez is narrated in this publication, from the first sketches to the building out of the earth in the middle of the desert. It tells about the genesis and the collective adventure of this project. The building appears like a large canopy which is dematerialized by the light, thus achieving an incredible fusion between matter and light with its permanent lighting, day and night.

Another specificity, the French Pavilion is part of a sustainable development approach: its metallic skin, with its photovoltaic tiles studded with LEDs, is one of the technical feats that endow it with energy autonomy and thus make it more virtuous. A testament to a new commitment to the construction of tomorrow, but also a showcase of economic and tourist attractiveness, the French Pavilion France can be completely dismantled and reused.

Several texts signed by major figures in the field of architecture, tell the different facets of this project from a structural, cultural and philosophical point of view by contextualizing it in the history of the great pavilions of the World Expos.
