Portfolio of prints - Mars, a photographic exploration

Accompanying the release of Mars, a photographic exploration, this portfolio created by the Éditions Xavier Barral contains six large-format photographic prints on fiber-based paper, in a case, signed and numbered by the editor and printed by Jean-Christophe Roux of PICTO lab in Paris.

Captured by the NASA probe put into orbit in 2005 to study the surface of the planet, these observations reveal an unsuspected landscape developed over more than three billion years. Among the tens of thousands of shots, with a resolution of unprecedented quality, Xavier Barral has extracted a series of nearly 200 photographs for the book maintaining a consistent point of view, with each photograph covering a 6-km wide strip. These images fuel our imagination, opening up multiple interpretations and thus inciting us to think about our world and ourselves.
